About the Northwest Area School District
Northwest Area runs three schools on its campus off Thorne Hill Road in Shickshinny: Northwest Area Primary Center (pre-kindergarten to grade 2), Northwest Area Intermediate School (grades 3 to 6) and Northwest Area High School (grades 7 to 12). Total enrollment is about 900 students, which makes it one of the smallest public districts in the county. The high school is home of the Rangers. - Shickshinny Borough: a small Susquehanna River town on Route 11 between Berwick and Nanticoke.
