About the Wyoming Area School District
Wyoming Area was formed in 1966 from four smaller districts and organizes its schools by grade: the Kindergarten Center in Exeter, the Primary Center in Wyoming (grades 1 to 3), the Intermediate Center in West Pittston (grades 4 to 6) and the Wyoming Area Secondary Center in Exeter (grades 7 to 12), home of the Warriors. District offices are at 252 Memorial Street, Exeter, PA 18643; the website is wyomingarea.org.
Where you can live
- West Pittston: the Garden Village, with tree-lined avenues of Victorian and Craftsman homes across the bridge from Pittston.
- Exeter and Wyoming: river boroughs along Wyoming Avenue (Route 11) with pre-war singles and doubles and the Wilkes-Barre Wyoming Valley Airport at their edge.
- West Wyoming and Exeter Township (Harding): hillside and rural neighborhoods with newer homes and larger lots.
- Falls Township: a rural corner of Wyoming County along the river north of Harding.
Pittston City and Pittston Township on the east bank are in the Pittston Area School District; Forty Fort and Kingston to the south are in the Wyoming Valley West School District. West Pittston flooded badly in September 2011, so we check the flood map on every riverside listing.
