About the Crestwood School District
Two neighborhood elementary schools serve kindergarten through grade 6: Fairview Elementary in Fairview Township and Rice Elementary in Rice Township. Students then move to the secondary campus on Route 309 in Mountain Top for Crestwood Middle School (grades 7 and 8) and Crestwood High School (grades 9 to 12), home of the Comets. District offices are at 281 South Mountain Boulevard, Mountain Top, PA 18707; the website is csdcomets.org.
Where you can live
- Mountain Top (Wright, Fairview and Rice Townships): the heart of the district, with established neighborhoods off Route 309, newer subdivisions and the Nuangola and Blytheburn lake communities.
- Dorrance Township: rural, with Interstate 81’s Dorrance exit, large wooded parcels and Dorrance Village.
- Dennison and Slocum Townships: the district’s quietest corners, Dennison toward the Lehigh River and Nescopeck State Park, Slocum along the Wapwallopen creeks to the west.
- White Haven and Penn Lake Park: the river town at the gateway to Lehigh Gorge State Park and the small lake borough beside it.
Addresses just north on Route 309 in Hanover Township, Sugar Notch and Warrior Run are in the Hanover Area School District, and Drums and Butler Township to the south are in the Hazleton Area School District.
